THE SKW1D STUDIO
Its been almost 2 months now since we began recording our new album. Our time is almost over, so we’d like to take this opportunity to thank Justin at Skw1d Studio for a top-notch quality service and for letting us be the first band to take his spankin new, ‘super high-end’ studio out for a test run. We’re psyched with the quality and clarity of our rough mixes at this early
stage and already feel we’ve achieved better results than ANY of our previous sessions.
…keep up the good work J-MAN!

THE FIRESTATION COMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well ladies and gents what can we say???!!
Yet again you guys have really come up trumps for us! What started off as a bit of a joke really seemed to get some interest so all we can say is thank you so so much for all you guys that came to the Firestation on Thursday but a special thanks to those who made a special effort to bring some friends along! And for those new people on behalf of the band I hope you enjoyed it and we might possibly see some of you again in the future! We really had fun so we cant wait till the next gig!
So we come to the moment that all.......4 of you have been waiting for! lol! Just kidding!
WELL WHO WON THE COMP I HEAR YOU CRY?????????
Well in 1st place we have the one and only Charlie Poole. I think Charlie sold about 15 or 16 tickets but she was easily the winner so thanks a lot Charlie! Now all you need to do is think of a really good excuse to get out of your lesson and studio trip! But you did us proud!
2nd Place Stu "LEGEND" Jones with 9 tickets! Thanks mate... you finally did something to repay everything we've done for you over the years! God damn it he hasn't got Facebook any more! Can one of his friends or family (Ellen) please point out this wind-up! thanks! :-)
3rd place - well ...now this is the tricky one! We've got some people tied and also some that came close so we wanted to thank you all in kind cos your all wicked so we're gonna have to get you all some goodies I think! Maybe even a couple more free lessons I reckon!
So these people are - Ben "THE BLOCKBUSTER" Foden.....Katrina and Laura (or as we like to call em "Team Awesome!").....Ryan "NOODLES" Cobb.... and last BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST..... Sami "TOKEN REDHEAD" Webb! lol!
You guys are the best, Thanks for making it great and just so we dont forget them Josh and Claire, ED, Sue, Nine and Pete for travelling down. Lyvie to of course! and my family Gav, Dianne, Ian, Ben and Cath who came for the 1st time! Thanks for your support! Hope you enjoyed it ...oh and LIVERPOOL! Also thanks so much to all the guys in Know Your Enemy and Clare of course! Thanks for having us, hopefully we can do it again soon!
If there is anyone we've forgotten im so sorry and just before you ask theoretically I should get the date with Dan as I did kinda think of the whole comp idea so the rules were an all expenses paid meal of my choice so...... chicken pizziola wrap please Dan! LOVELY JOB! I'm a cheap date!
Anyway Thanks from Me, Dan, Tom and Ross! Keep you eyes peeled for any gigs and of course the album!
Take care you lovely people you!

Studio update
Well, It seems we are about a third of the way there with the new songs. R
oss has now finished up his tracking. In record time I might add. The tracks are really starting to take shape. It's Toms time to shine in the studio now. I've been doing a bit of microphone placement for Tommy-guns' guitar sound. For those who don't know what that is, basically I'm moving the mics ever so slightly to find that "sweet spot" on the cabinet. All fun and games. Cant wait till I go in again to lay down the vocals.
Speak soon
Dan

Just checking in.
Hey one and all,
Just wanted to say that all is going quite swimmingly in pre-production. It will be coming to an end soon. Allan will be Tracking his drums end of this month for the final showdown. My new guitar is working out great. Used it in practice a few times now and I'm loving it. Looks like Tom will be upgrading his guitar soon too (having played my PRS in pre-production).
All this work has found me not touching my xbox in 2 weeks. I'm dying to play left for dead damn it! Still managed to find the time to start watching Prison break though.(bring on season 2).
11 days till Ross and Kate's wedding, i better buy my suit.

BIG things on the horizon...
Hello TLD ninjas!
You may have noticed there is a bit of a gap in our upcoming gigs and not as many shows as we usually play-there is a reason for this!
As you would expect from us we have some plans and plots that we are trying to keep secret as we work on them but there should be some announcements soon!
In the meantime we would just like to thank everybody once again for being our friend and supporting us the way you do-it means everything to us (gonna get all emotional in a minute...).
Keep checking the page cuz the roller coaster ride that is TLD is just about to take another giant leap for mankind!
Keep evolving and we'll see you soon!!!
Ross

Gig Review
Gander Gig Review June 19th
The reason I left my home to come here tonight was to hear “The Longest Day”, after stumbling upon their “My Space” page by chance, the songs that I heard there really impressed me. One of those songs was the opening track tonight “Utopia” which showed that this 3 piece packed a real punch with some great guitar work with stunningly good vocals. A cover of the Nirvana song “Breed” was thrown in midway through the set, a great version adding some variety, however with their own material being so good I would have preferred more of that. This sound deserves to be heard in a big place, it is atmospheric , inspiring and even making the hairs on the back on my neck stand up. The electronic backing tracks merged perfectly well with the drums and guitars giving a truly memorable listening experience. “Suit of Lies” for me was one of the stand out tracks of the night, with vocalist Dan Henry giving a very emotional performance despite their only being a dozen or so people in the audience. The Longest Day deserve to be heard my many more people, they are something very special.
